Few weeks before, I had a chance to visit Mandya, a known agricultural town in Karnataka state. It’s around 120 KMs drive from so-called garden city Bangalore!

Every travel has a purpose to everyone, yes I too had a purpose to be there in that town. I went with one of my friends to visit a famous doctor called “Aidhu (Five) rupee doctor”, Dr.Shankare Gowda MBBS., and specialize in Dermatology (treatment for Skin diseases/disorders).

This man with magical hands is one among the famous personalities in the town. Patients suffering from any skin allergies, fungal infections, skin diseases such as psoriasis, rashes, erythema etc. praise him as an incarnation of God.

The hospital is located near BSNL office via post office road. Once you land at Mandya bus stand or railway station you can easily find the way to his hospital by inquiring anybody.

Dr.Shankare serves people between 2 PM to 10 PM all days except Sundays and he makes sure no one is left without visiting him on the day, even though its late-night. Morning hours he spends, his time in the agricultural land. No appointments/priorities are provided to anybody, no matter whether you are the big-shot/VVIP in the society, still, you have to stand in line to get treated by him.

He treats kids and women first then followed by the men. He treats patients and provides an injection first. Patients are vaccinated with allergic injection irrespective of their diseases.

Post vaccination, he prescribes suitable medicines to patients. The medicines are available only at the medical shops in the same building, it is very difficult to find the same medicines in other places. We struggled once too!!

I am sure, the diseases will be cured without any further visit. When I interacted with various patients who came from different villages/cities/states, what I heard from all of them is, the one sentence “It’s cured by following the prescribed medicines without any side-effects”, in case of diseases remains, he asks them to re-visit again, but no one re-visited for the medicines J .Here the magical hands’ works, 100 percent patients are cured without further visits.

There are people who had spent lots of money in multi-specialty hospitals, but nothing has cured their skin diseases, but the magical treatment of this one man “Aidhu Rupee doctor” has proved and cured their diseases. Most of the times, his prescription doesn’t exceed INR 500/-.  God has given this magical power to this man who only serves the people.

He got lots of awards and rewards from Karnataka state government, although he got the invite from various political parties to represent/join with them, he declined and said that “he wants to serve the people in need especially poor who is not able to afford to their skin disease and he still serves”. The fees to be paid is only FIVE rupees (INR 5/-). Thus he called by people as “Aidhu rupee doctor”.

This magical hand doesn’t have any contact numbers, no hospital numbers, no assistants, no labs, no blood tests machines and scans, no computers, and the internet but he has the knowledge of latest diseases and serves people on his hands without expecting nothing. May God bless him!
